OUR WORK
Social Support Services
Direct Support, Lasting Impact
Through evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary expertise, we deliver direct support services that address some of society's most pressing challenges - mental health, violence, bullying, and social exclusion.
Βacked by research, our approach combines professional, tailored, personalized care to individuals and communities, ensuring that every intervention empowers while generating insights that strengthen policies and systems.
OUR SOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES
Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers
Our three Group Houses—”Prooptiki,” “Alkyonis,” and “Kalypso”—provide specialized residential care for individuals with severe mental disorders, creating therapeutic communities where recovery and independence can flourish.
Located in sub-urban areas close to the countryside, these facilities offer 24-hour supervision and support from multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and mental health workers. Each house accommodates 15 residents in carefully designed environments that prioritize dignity, community living, and personalized care. “Alkyonis” features additional therapeutic resources including a small farm for occupational therapy.
These Group Houses represent our commitment to deinstitutionalization and community-based mental health care, serving as both healing environments and research sites that inform evidence-based practices in residential mental health treatment across Greece and Europe.
Day Care Center
Our Day Care Center “Ariadni,” located in Piraeus, provides free mental health services to anyone in need. This community-based center offers accessible support through a tailored approach that includes one-on-one therapy sessions and group interventions when appropriate.
Our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, a psychiatrist, and occupational therapists works collaboratively to develop personalized treatment plans that address each individual’s unique needs and circumstances.
Through this comprehensive approach, “Ariadni” creates a welcoming space where people can access professional mental health support without barriers, emphasizing early intervention, community integration, and reducing stigma around mental health care in the greater Athens area.
Live Without Bullying
Live Without Bullying provides free, anonymous online counseling support, with trained advisors offering personalized guidance to help individuals find solutions to bullying situations. This comprehensive anti-bullying initiative serves students, parents, and educators through targeted educational programs, quick learning videos, and practical resources designed to prevent and address bullying in various environments.
Operating through both web platform and mobile app, the program delivers evidence-based interventions and educational materials that empower communities to create safer spaces.
Beyond direct support, Live Without Bullying conducts training seminars, develops educational content, and works with institutional partners including the Ministry of Education and Sports, Greek Police, and regional education authorities to implement systematic anti-bullying strategies across Greece, generating valuable insights that inform policy and practice throughout Europe.
Friendly Spaces for Women and Girls
Our “Friendly Space for Women and Girls” serves as a hub for empowerment, protection, and access to information, resources, and services for women and girls, with the ultimate goal of reducing exposure to gender-based discrimination and violence.
Operating twice weekly in Athens, this safe space provides culturally sensitive support addressing the complex needs of migrant, refugee, and local women facing various challenges. Underpinned by the principles of solidarity, cooperation, inclusion, confidentiality, and trust, our approach includes psychosocial support, skills development, legal assistance, and connections to essential services.
To date, we have empowered more than 80 women and girls through this social service, while generating evidence that informs policy development across Europe.
