Moving towards a Green tRansitiOn through sustainable Waste management education in the VET Sector
The GROWS project aims to assist VET providers in implementing sustainable waste management practices.
Operated by: KMOP Education & Innovation Hub

CHALLENGE

Waste management has become a hot topic due to the huge amount of waste produced in Europe (EC, 2018). Annually, 5 tonnes of waste are produced by an average European and 60% ends up in the landfill, creating many environmental problems. Change is required and this can be achieved by a bottom-up approach through VET and the integration of environmental issues caused by waste management. Thus, VET providers/trainers need to be trained and educated on producing innovative learning material to promote engagement towards sustainable waste management.
